Nathan Williams has been interpreting places and spaces through digital media since 1996 (before AOL even came on Floppy Disks). While completing his Masters of Fine Art in Electronic Visualization at Mississippi State University he received grants to create a variety of interactive media for the National Park Service that showcased the beauty and history of the Natchez Trace, the Mississippi River Delta and the Crosby Arboretum.
In 1999, Nathan was the founding director of the interactive media division of Peter A. Mayer Advertising and created award winning online consumer destinations for a wide variety of clients – he marketed everything from cruises to schnapps online. The best product he was ever offered to sell, however, was New Orleans – by designing the city’s official tourism Web site: NewOrleansOnline.com
After Hurricane Katrina Nathan came to work for New Orleans Tourism full-time and has built a content rich online resource to attract leisure travelers to the city. He oversees all design, production, online marketing and social media for New Orleans Tourism.
